Privacy Policy

This policy explains which data North Peak Digital Agency (“we”) processes on this website, in the North Peak widget, on the activation page and in our emails. We apply the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 1. The widget on online stores

The widget does not use cookies and does not collect personal data of shoppers. To count how many people are viewing a product, the browser keeps a random session ID in sessionStorage; it is deleted when the tab is closed and cannot be linked to a person. Our server receives the store domain, the product ID, this random ID and which badges were shown or clicked. We only store aggregated counts per product and day. The IP address is processed by our hosting provider only to deliver the request and is not stored by us.

When a shopper clicks a product card that shows a badge, the link goes through Awin (awin1.com), the affiliate network of the store. Awin then sets its own tracking cookies under its own privacy policy: awin.com/privacy. The store covers Awin tracking in its own cookie and privacy information, as it already does for its Awin programme.

2. Activation page

When a store activates the widget, we store a consent record: the store domains, the contact email address, the date and time, the IP address, the browser (user agent), the version of the agreement and the language. We need this record to prove the store’s consent (Art. 31 FADP / Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We keep it for as long as the agreement lasts and up to 10 years afterwards.

3. Emails to stores

We contact online stores at their published business email address about our service. Every email contains an unsubscribe link; after unsubscribing we send no further messages. To see whether an email was opened or a link clicked, our emails may contain a tracking pixel and tracked links. If you write to us, we use your message only to reply.

4. This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no external fonts. Your language choice is kept in your browser’s local storage only.

If you apply through the form, we store the store address, your email, your name and message (if given), whether your store is on Awin, the language and your IP address. We use them only to check your store and answer your application; the IP address only to limit spam. We open your store’s public homepage once to check that it runs on Shopify. We keep applications for up to 2 years, or delete them earlier on request.

5. Service providers

Hosting, database and email: Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), with data centres worldwide. Transfers to the USA are covered by the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Affiliate tracking: Awin AG / Awin Ltd. We do not sell personal data.

6. Your rights

You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your data and object to processing. Write to hello@northpeakdigitalagency.app. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version and its date are always on this page.
